How Professional Cleaning Helps Dirty Spots to Lift Easier
Dirty spots are inevitable. Whether it’s on the flooring, on the furniture, or in a vehicle; encountering stains is hard to avoid (especially with children)! We wish we could say that professional cleaning is a fix-all in the spill/stain department, however we can’t always guarantee the removal of stains. Things such as: the type of stain, the type of fibers/fabric, the color of the stain & fibers/fabric, and the age of the stain and product all play a part when we aren’t able to remove a stain.
In our 30 years of business, one common factor we have found in successful stain removal is the frequency of professional cleaning the product has encountered. Of course there are circumstances where we are able to clean something that hasn’t been cleaned in over 10 years and it cleans up so nice! It just isn’t usually the case.
Most commonly, if the product has been cleaned regularly it tends to bounce back and recover from heavy traffic wear patterns, and stains easier. For this reason we recommend that residents schedule regular cleaning for their products (carpet, hard floors, upholstery, rugs, etc.) twice a year (or more if needed). Businesses tend to encounter more traffic than residential spaces do so we recommend that they schedule regular cleanings anywhere from quarterly to monthly (or more as needed). We also offer a discount for businesses who have us clean regularly! Be sure and ask us about it when you book!
Lastly, we recommend that you call us to remove a new stain before you attempt removing it! Sometimes at-home stain removal methods work really well on carpets but we have found that most often the stains come back quickly and become harder to completely remove in the long run. Often the stains that we aren’t able to remove have been previously treated with an at-home stain removal method. If you ever end up with a red stain in your product please call us first to have the best chance of removing it. Red stains are notorious for being very difficult to remove and they often don’t come out if we can’t treat them first.
It’s a lot like using an at-home hair dying kit vs. going to a professional at the salon to get your hair dyed. The results are going to be very different, especially in the long run. Usually people understand the benefit of going to a professional after they need them to fix their hair mistakes from an at-home kit. Once the damage is done (depending on how severe it is) a professional can only do so much.
This is similar to having a professional cleaner remove the stains in your product instead of trying to remove them yourself. Professionals are able to make sure they don’t ruin the fibers, while they work on removing the stain completely. Then, they can clean it so it can withstand any future stains better!
